The Alexander Inn in Oak Ridge - Haunted or not?

There is an old dead raccoon sealed inside the Inn, plus while there my husband heard little animals scurrying behind the walls. These days the walls are gaping with holes, or maybe missing to the studs in some cases as revitalization of the Inn is underway. It is no small feat for animals to find shelter in the building.

Why did we research the old Guest house? Rumors of hearing people walking on the stairs, dripping blood stains on the walls, and the pictures floating on the internet of a figure peering through the windows of a vacant Inn piqued our interest. I wanted to find proof that the Alexander Inn is haunted, it would give me an opportunity to feature it in an upcoming book about local haunted places, which would garner exposure for the ORRE plans to fix the building up . Certainly there are stories of fright, ask the director of ORRE, as one night prior to a paranormal investigation she made a quick exit from the inn when a bat flew into the ramshackle building. "That was the end of me, and I'm not going back in until I'm sure the bat is gone,'' she was quoted as saying. Kate is careful to add, “Neither myself nor anyone on the board has any reason to believe there's a ghost in there." But rumors circulating on the Internet claim otherwise.
