Paranormal Research, Haunted Places, Ghost Stories in Tennessee
In Chattanooga, TN many people know about the Crutchfield Hotel, which later became The Read House hotel. The old part of the hotel dates back to the 1800's and what is now a lavish lobby was once a hospital to soldiers during the Civil War. Is it any wonder there are rumors of haints and spirits?
One of the most famous legends is room 311, where a woman (possibly a prostitute) was nearly beheaded in the bathtub. Her spirit is said to dislike men, especially men who smoke, and many a visitor has been awakened by her dark and weary spirit.
We spent the night there in Spring of 2009, renting romm 311. Which is really not entirely the original room, that section of the hotel burned many years ago and has also faced extensive renovation when it became The Sheraton. But somewhere there within the current room 311, or maybe room 313, or maybe in between the walls a spirit of a woman seems to have taken residence. Staff and guests have seen her, heard her, felt her.
And from the bedroom window you can still see the barred windows of a room that once housed Al Capone while he awaited trial. He had stayed in room 311, so evidentally the original room is still intact, though maybe not whole.
We did have a few neat experiences, complete with pictures of dark shadowy men in the mirrors and glowing orbs. We also captured an EVP. On a personal level, we encountered some strange phenomena. But if you want to read about it or watch the videos visit our main website http://www.paranormalspectrum.com and go to our Haunted Places tab.
Then stay the night there and tell me what your experience was.
